Because we know you play such an important role in your student's college search process, we want to share with you all of the characteristics that make the University of Missouri-St. Louis the right fit for your son or daughter.
Nursing school is a unique and demanding academic experience that will be filled with many rewards and challenges for your son or daughter. The College of Nursing at the University of Missouri-St. Louis strives to assist our students in every way possible by providing them with the tools necessary to obtain their educational and career goals. Students within the College of Nursing will be guided by faculty and staff who are committed to ensuring their academic success. The College has implemented the use of one-on-one tutoring, group study sessions, academic guidance, relevant workshops and individualized appointments to assess our students' academic needs.
Nursing Faculty
The College's nursing faculty members are recognized as leaders in the education of nurses and innovators in the practice and research of nursing. Your son or daughter will have access to faculty through the classroom, clinical settings, regularly scheduled office hours, and extracurricular activities. Students are encouraged to meet with faculty to discuss their academic progress and career options.
Academic Advising
Your son or daughter will chart their academic career with the aid of our academic advisors within the College of Nursing. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisors each semester in order to obtain information about their academic progress, discuss academic goals, and review important information pertaining to graduation.

Academic Support
Students who are concerned about their academic performance can seek the assistance of the College's Retention Coordinator, Jennifer Taylor. Each semester, Jennifer hosts "Success Sessions" that address topics of interest such as balancing and organizing your time, effective study habits, test taking tips and hints, and critical thinking workshops. Students are also invited to make individual appointments to discuss any of these topics or to be referred to additional campus resources.
