Student Success Stories

Our Nursing students are anxious to share their personal stories of success! Whether they have just successfully completed their first Nursing exam, or are about to graduate from UMSL with their BSN, MSN, DNP or PhD, these stories are meant to encourage, inspire, and guide both current and future Nursing students.

November 2, 2012

This week's success story is from one of the students in our Traditional BSN Option:

"I am a survivor of a life-threatening childhood blood disorder, and this inspires me to be courageous in nursing school. I have made up my mind to do my best in nursing school. I simply won't give up on my dream of becoming a nurse. This mindset has helped me through sleepless nights, passing difficult exams, and taking notes in class when the instructor is talking extremely fast. This mindset has encouraged me to push myself to try harder, to encourage my peers to do the same, and convince myself  (and others) that nursing school is worth the tremendous effort. It is all worth it - because now my life has purpose."
