Overview

 

The Master of Science in Nursing degree program is part of the ongoing commitment of the College of Nursing at UMSL to provide quality education for registered nurses.

In 1981, UMSL established the baccalaureate completion program for registered nurses. In 1994, the program expanded to include a pre-licensure baccalaureate program, making the University the only public institution that offers baccalaureate through doctoral nursing education in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The College enjoys a mutually beneficial relationship with the regions largest and most sophisticated providers of health care services.

The BSN, MSN, and DNP programs at the College are fully accredited by the Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the nationally recognized accrediting body for baccalaureate and higher degree programs, and the prelicensure program is fully approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

The policies of UMSL comply with the provisions under those laws which forbid discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability or veteran status in any program or activity of the university.
