Where are Pierre Laclede Honors College Graduates now?
Graduate school, professional school, the working world...all
paths have been tried and tested by the graduates of the Pierre Laclede
Honors College. Our students walk out of our doors well prepared and motivated
to make a difference. Thanks to the dedicated faculty and staff, our students
have the desire and knowledge to put their best face forward to the world
outside the walls of the PLHC. Here are some real-life success stories....
A Fall 2004 graduate will be starting the University of Missouri-Columbia
School of Law in Fall 2005.
A recent Honors College graduate has taken a position with the Social
Security Adminstration in Arnold, Missouri.
A business student who interned (for Honors credit) with Kennedy Capital
has accepted a full time position at a St. Louis office.
A promising female student accepted a full tuiton scholarship to the University
of Iowa's School of Law in 2004.
A Winter 2005 graduate completed a very unique research study trip to
South Africa.
A student has taken her knowledge to Shangai, China, as she is working
for Bearing Point, an international consulting company.
Expeditors International, located in Hazelwood, Missouri, is employing
a PLHC graduate as an Oceans Import Specialist. She is in charge of coordinating
freight shipments and communicating with external customers.
A promising psychologist is now working on her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
(PsyD) at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she has
also been awarded a Trustee's Academic Scholarship.
A 2001 graduate who has taught at UM Saint Louis in the Criminology Department
and the Honors College since his own graduation has recently taken a tenure
position with the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
A Fall 2004 graduate has received a full tuition scholarship and a generous
stipend to pursue a PhD program in environmental science and engineering
at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
A Spring 2005 graphic design graduate is now working with The Eleven,
Inc., a graphic design/ advertising firm in the Central West End, Saint
Louis. Her thoughts on the Honors College are: "...my college career
would not have been the same without it. I loved the small discussion-style
classes, the teachers, and the great things I learned about the world
around me. My eyes were opened to the world by the Honors College and
I am so thankful for it!" CONGRATULATIONS!
