Message from the Associate Dean
Nancy
Gleason, the Associate Dean and Director of Writing at the Honors College,
focuses largely on student success. More specifically, the Associate
Dean supervises the Advising Program, the Honors College Office and the
Admissions Program. As Associate Dean, Nancy works with the Dean on planning
the curriculum and recruiting faculty to teach Honors classes. In addition
to these duties, Nancy directs the writing program of
the college, and in that capacity teaches the class which produces the
literary publication, Bellerive, and develops the writing curriculum
for the college. Among her other activities, Nancy helps coordinate special
events for the college, including the annual Art Show and the Excellence
in Writing Essay Contest. When asked what she enjoys most about her position
as Associate Dean, Nancy will quickly tell you with no hesitation, “It
is our students.”
