Named Scholarships for 2008-2009
Most honors college scholarship funds come from state appropriations. However, an increasing number comes from private donations, and most of these have endowment fund status. Income from the endowment funds and from continuing private donations allows us to offer a certain number of these scholarships each year.
Students whose applications for these awards are successful will receive a substantial increase in their PLHC scholarship total.
Some scholarships give preference to minorities and if you did not provide that information when you applied for admission, you will need to provide it on the application for consideration for those scholarships.
For more information on the scholarships:
incoming transfers and freshmen Honors College students
returning Honors College students
Application forms:
Freshmen and new transfers (April 1st is the priority deadline)
Returning students (April 1st is the priority deadline)
The deadline is the priority deadline but if you miss it you can still apply. Those who turned in their applications prior to the deadline will be given first priority.
Also remember you may be able to apply for additional scholarships through financial aid.
