Workships
In keeping with our commitment to recognize and support the meritorious achievements of our unique population of young scholars, the Honors College provides scholarship opportunities designed specifically to capitalize on their skills, talents, and specialized training. Honors College Program Builders (HCPB) will undertake short-term “workships” under the supervision of faculty or staff, and their contributions to College life are geared primarily to designing and/or developing new Honors College initiatives, such as web site development, library acquisitions, undergraduate course or curriculum development, film or readings series, and alumni activities, and the like. HCPB proposals need not be strictly “academic” in nature, and should not be confused with undergraduate research projects (which must be done for academic credit and for which separate Honors College funding is available). In general terms, HCPB proposals should enhance a student’s curriculum vitae (thus strengthening a student’s potential as an applicant for post-baccalaureate study and/or employment), and enhance the College’s ability to fulfill its educational and institutional mission.
