Learn more about PPA Alumni in Action

  • Through a competitive application process that was open to professionals in the city, three PPA program graduates were accepted to the FOCUS St. Louis Emerging Leaders Program. They are: MPPA and NPML 2014 graduate Krystal Taylor; MPPA and NPML 2012 graduate Jessica Heslin; and MPPA 2013 graduate Lauren Masterson. The PPA graduates account for 12 percent of the program’s participants.

  • MPPA 2010 graduate Jeanine S. Arrighi was promoted in June to the Bureau Chief for Environmental Health Services in the City of St. Louis Department of Health, which includes air pollution control, animal care and control, vector control, community sanitation, and food safety programs.

  • MPPA 2009 graduate Jacob Lute Brown is currently serving a 65-day detail as an Operations Supervisor and Technical Expert for the Social Security Administration. 

  • NPML 2011 graduate Kristen Clyne-Hamitouch was named the Ryan White Quality Assurance and Data Specialist at Optimus Health Care in Bridgeport, Connecticut in December 2013.

  • MPPA 2011 graduate Lovey Davis attended the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, D.C. in September. While there she met several public servants, including Attorney General Eric Holder, Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, and Congressman Lacy Clay. In addition she met the National Urban League President Marc Morial, plus Ben Chavis, former National President of the Urban League. She attended the Phoenix Awards, where President Barack Obama was the keynote speaker, and Kathy Hughes of TV One was honored. 

  • MPPA 2008 graduate Paul M. Girouard recently was selected for a new position, Design/Development/Survey Manager, with the State of Missouri Office of Administration in Jefferson City.

  • NPML 2012 graduate Katie Kaufmann continues to put her NPML skills to work as a member of the Maplewood Richmond Heights School Board, to which she was elected in April.
       
  • MPPA 2014 and NPML 2009 graduate Maria Kerford and her husband Alex, had a baby, Anderson George Kerford, who was born August 14.  

  • MPPA and NPML 2006 graduate Lawrence Miskel received the IPMA-CP designation after taking the IPMA-HR administered test.

  • MPPA and NPML 2003 graduate Kelly Pollock was selected by National Arts Strategies (NAS) to participate in the latest class of 50 leaders in The Chief Executive Program: Community and Culture. Over the next year, the participants will work with NAS and each other to address their biggest challenges and lead change throughout the arts and culture sector. Pollock is the executive director of COCA.

  • MPPA and NPLM 2008 graduate Jim Schallom was promoted in June to Director of Development for Missouri and Indiana at College Summit.

  • MPPA 2013 graduate Nathan Schauf in June was named the City Administrator for Owensville, Mo.

  • NPML 2009 graduate Delicia (Lisa) T. Stephens celebrated her one year work anniversary on August 26. She is the Director of Family Support Services with United Cerebral Palsy Heartland, a nonprofit organization that serves the needs of people with disabilities.

  • NPML 2006 graduate Kristina Turk started a new position as an adjunct professor in the Psychology department at Salem State University in Salem Massachusetts. She teaches "Adulthood and Old Age" and biological psychology. 

  • MPPA 2010 graduate Byron Witherspoon was promoted to Director Supplier Diversity at Ameren.
