Manuscript Submission
The American Review of Public Administration
As one of the premier journals in its field, The American Review of Public Administration has always had the combined goals of both advancing the knowledge of public administration and improving its practice. A peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the study of public affairs and public administration, it features articles that address rapidly-emerging issues in the field.
With The American Review of Public Administration now
being published by Sage Publications, the editors invite submission of manuscripts
that help pursue the journal's goals.
Guidelines
- Theory-Based Empirical Research
- Commentaries on Pressing Issues
- Reviews or Syntheses of Research
- Conceptual/Theoretical Discussions on or over the Boundaries of Traditional Public Administration
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically by e-mail attachment to arpa@missouri.edu. Since manuscripts are subjected to blind, peer review, the author’s name(s) and affiliation should be listed in a separate file. Any other identification of the author, including any references in the manuscript, notes, title and reference sections should be removed from the paper and placed in a separate file. Submission of a manuscript implies a commitment by the author to publish in the journal, if the manuscript is accepted. The editors also assume that any manuscript submitted to ARPA is not currently under consideration by any other journal. Manuscripts between 20 and 30 pages are especially welcome. Accepted submissions must conform to the latest Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA). Each submission should also include an abstract between 100-150 words, and a brief biographical sketch of each author, in separate files. In exceptional circumstances, paper submissions may be arranged by contacting our manuscript office: The American Review of Public Administration, Harry S Truman School of Public Affairs, 101 Middebush Hall, University of Missouri-Columbia, Columbia, MO 65211-6100; telephone: (573) 882-3812; fax: (573) 884-4872.
