Internships
Internships are a valuable part of the MPPA Program. An independent study worth 1 - 6 credit hours, internships are intended to provide the student with an introduction to the everyday issues facing public administrators and public policy makers. Internships give you the opportunity to apply the knowledge you've learned in the classroom, assess future possibilities, and meet professionals in your field.
Internships are available in a wide range of governmental and not-for-profit corporations. Students are placed in a variety of settings--from political campaigns to county personnel departments to legislative offices. Students have the opportunity to observe first hand issues of organization, management, political processes, and social and economic processes.
