Disability Resource Center at Washington University
The University makes every effort to ensure that all of our students can take full advantage of all programs, activities and opportunities that Washington University offers. The Disability Resource Center does this, in part, by arranging specific accommodations for students. To receive support, students with disabilities need to provide documentation of their disability. We have specific criteria for documentation.

If you are a new student, whether undergraduate, transfer, or graduate, contact us as soon as possible. We will gladly talk with you about our policies and procedures and how you can take advantage of our resources. As a new student, we ask that you contact us. If you do not contact the Disability Resource Center, we will not know that we may need to provide accommodations for you.

The Disability Resource Center web site is www.rescomp.wustl.edu/~drc and the phone
number is 935-4062 (VOICE/TTY). Top

Dropping a Course (UM-St. Louis Procedures)

  1. For the first four weeks of the semester, the student can drop a class without any faculty approval and the course will not appear on the student’s transcript.
  2. For the next eight weeks, a student may drop a class, but the instructor must give the student either an EX or F grade, depending on whether the student is passing or failing the course at the time of withdrawal. The EX or F does appear on the student’s transcript and the F counts into the student’s grade point average. If the instructor e-mails Dean Feldman with the EX or F grade, he will take care of the paperwork of the UM-St. Louis campus. Also, the instructor must still indicate an EX or F on the final grade sheet. Dean Feldman’s e-mail address is feldmanb@msx.umsl.edu.
  3. After 12 weeks, the student may still request to drop a course, but the decision is now up to the instructor whether to drop the student or not. If the instructor agrees to drop the student, then the procedure described in paragraph two should be followed.

Timelines for summer terms are different. Please refer to the academic calendar in the front of the Schedule of Courses for specific dates each semester. Top
