REGISTRATION

Currently enrolled UMSL students may preregister from Nov. 5 to Nov. 16, 2007. Preregistration is conducted by appointment only during this time period.

  • Register for Winter Intersession courses when registering for spring semester courses.
  • Typically students may register for up to 17 credit hours in the spring semester; 18 credit hours is considered an overload. If a student reaches 18 credit hours with some of the hours being Winter Intersession courses, the Registrar will manually override the overload message without special approval. 

Open enrollment for new, visiting, returning, and currently enrolled UMSL students begins Nov. 19, 2007, and ends on the first day of each Winter Intersession class being enrolled in. (NOTE: New and visiting students may register online between Nov. 5 and Nov. 18, but their classes will not be loaded into the system until Nov. 19, 2007.)

Visiting students should contact Ann Larsen at (314) 516-5958 to register for Winter Intersession course using the CE Registration Form. Ann will also provide information about resident/nonresident fees and the Virgil Sapp Scholarship.

Deadline for registration is the first day of the each Winter Intersession class in which a student is enrolling (NOTE: Students who register less than one week prior to the start of a course may not be loaded into MyGateway by the first day of class.)

STUDENT FEES

Nonresident students who register for only CE credit courses during Winter Intersession and the spring semester will be billed at the spring 2008 resident rate. CE will provide a scholarship for the difference between resident and nonresident student fees.

Nonresident students who register for regular credit courses during the Winter Intersession and the spring semester will be billed at the spring 2008 nonresident rate.

Student fees for Winter Intersession credit courses will be billed according to the same schedule as the spring semester. Fees may be paid in four payments beginning Jan. 1, 2008, or three payments beginning Feb. 1, 2008. (Visit the Cashier's Office for more information.)

Scholarship and student loan money for the spring semester may be used for Winter Intersession classes.

VIRGIL N. SAPP SCHOLARSHIP

A $500 scholarship is available through the Virgil N. Sapp Scholarship Fund.

TRANSCRIPTS

Transcripts will be available by request sent to the Registrar's office on or after Jan. 23, 2008. All course fees must be paid prior to the transcript release.

WITHDRAW/DROP DATES

The withdraw/drop date and time for Winter Intersession courses is by noon of the second day of class. Once a grade is submitted for a Winter Intersession course, the course cannot be dropped, and the student is responsible for complete fee payment, even if the grade is submitted before the spring semester drop date.

Fees will be reassessed for students who officially withdraw from the University or drop classes. Fees included in this reassessment are the Educational Fee, Student Activity and Health Fee, Information Technology Fee, Special Course Fee (if applicable), and Parking Fee (if applicable). POLICY ON ADMINISTRATIVE CANCELLATION OF STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR NONPAYMENT OF EDUCATIONAL FEES

A registered student is required to remit payment of educational fees by the announced deadlines. Students enrolled in Winter Intersession will not be cancelled for nonpayment, but the course will not be transcripted until complete payment is received.
