Cultural Diversity Requirements
To expand cultural awareness, all business degree programs require the completion of one course (three credit hours) which emphasizes Asian, African, Middle Eastern, Latin American, Pacific Aboriginal, Native American, or comparable culture. The course selected should involve substantial material independent of the cultures' interactions with European cultures. Most courses which satisfy this requirement also partially satisfy other general education requirements. For example, a student selecting a course in Asian philosophy would fulfill both the cultural diversity requirement as well as one of the three required courses in the humanities.Below is a list of courses that satisfies the Cultural Diversity requirement. This list is meant only as a SAMPLING of those which may be used to satisfy that requirement. Students should consult the UM-St. Louis general catalog for prerequisites to courses and additional course listings.
