Degree Requirements B.S. in I.S.

The requirements for a B.S. in IS include the general education requirements, the business course requirements
and 21-24 hours in IS as specified below. All classes must have a grade of
C- or better to be eligible. Students may not take more than 24 hours in
IS counted toward the 120 hours necessary for graduation.
1. Required Core Course
- BA 2800: Introduction to Information Systems
2. A student must complete 5 courses (15 hours) as specified below.
- Programming/Requirement (6 hours):
- BA 3806: Mgrl. Appl. of Object Oriented Programming I
- BA 3816: Mgrl. Appl. of Object Oriented Programming II
- Analysis and Design Requirements (6 hours)
- BA 3810: Information Systems Analysis
- BA 4850: Information Systems Design
- Database Requirement (3 hours)
- BA 3845: Database Management Systems
3. A student must complete 2 courses (at least 1 course 3000-level business Information Systems Course) from the following list:
- BA 3807: Legacy Systems
- BA 3815: Object-Oriented Applications in Business (C++)
- BA 3841: Enterprise Information Systems
- BA 3842: Management of Telecommunications
- BA 3843: Decision Support Systems
- BA 3844: Developing Business Applications in .NET
- BA 3846: e-Commerce
- BA 3847: Web Design
- BA 3848: Security and Information Systems
- BA 3421: Computer Applications in Accounting
- BA 3503: Computer Applications in Finance
Seminars and Independent Studies are restricted to those offered by and
approved by the Area faculty and approved by the Area Coordinator.
- BA 3899: Business Administration Problems/Seminar
- BA 3898: Independent Study
A maximum of one Computer Science course listed below can be taken for the B.S. in IS
- CS 2210: The C Programming Language
- CS 2700: Computer Systems: Architecture And Organization
- CS 2710: Computer Systems: Programming
- CS 4760: Operating Systems
- CS 4300: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
