Business Course Requirements

All students pursuing Business degrees must complete no fewer than 48 and no more than 60 hours within the minimum 120 hour degree program in business administration. Of that number, 30 hours are business core courses, required of all business students. The remaining 18 to 30 hours are business electives.

Sophomore Core Course Requirements

Computers and Information Systems (INFSYS 1800)
No Prerequisite

Financial Accounting (ACCTNG 2400)
Prerequisites: 27 credit hours and College Algebra

Managerial Accounting (ACCTNG 2410)
Prerequisites: College Algebra and Financial Accounting; and

Legal Environment of Business (BUS AD 2900)
Prerequisites: Principles of Microeconomics and Financial Accounting.

 

Junior/Senior Level Course Requirements

The following business core courses are junior/senior level in nature and require course-specific prerequisites as well as a minimum campus grade point average of 2.0.

Financial Management (FINANCE 3500)
Prerequisites: Principles of Macroeconomics, Basic Probability and Statistics, and Financial Accounting;

Basic Marketing (MKTG 3700)
Prerequisites: Principles of Microeconomics and junior standing;

Management and Organizational Behavior (MGMT 3600)
P rerequisite: junior standing;

Business Statistics (LOG OM 3300)
Prerequisites: Basic Probability & Statistics and Basic Calculus,

Introduction to Operations Management (LOG OM 3320)
P rerequisites: Principles of Microeconomics, Computers and Information Systems, Business Statistics, and Managerial Accounting; and a capstone course normally taken in the last semester of one's undergraduate program,

Strategic Management (MGMT 4219)
Prerequisites: senior standing, Financial Management, Basic Marketing, and Management and Organizational Behavior.

The economics and mathematics components of the program are included within the general education requirements (described above).
