Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Sheffield brings over 30 years of accounting and managerial experience in the finance and banking industries to the Finance Advisory Board. He began his career with ITT Financial, an $11B finance company that provided commercial, SBA and consumer financing. Mr. Sheffield was quickly promoted to Vice President/Assistant Controller and was responsible for all the accounting functions for a $3B financing division at the time of divestiture.
During this divestiture process his efforts subsequently led to the recruitment and hiring of Mr. Sheffield by GE Capital, as Vice President/Controller of the SBA division, Mr. Sheffield played a key role in establishing the company as one of the industry’s leading SBA lenders. In the spring of 1998, Mr. Sheffield was recruited by a finance company in Houston, Texas as Senior Vice President/CFO & COO. In 2004 he was instrumental in assisting in the sale of this company to a $10B privately held bank. For 11 years he helped transform this operation from the 42nd to 18th largest SBA lender. In 2009 he moved back to his home town of St. Louis where he currently serves as CFO of Frontenac Bank.
Mr. Sheffield graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Missouri in St. Louis, MO. He is a member of the Missouri Venture Forum and serves on the Alumni Committee for ExecLink- St. Louis.
