Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA)

 

THE VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (VITA), THROUGH THE UMSL, COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, SERVICES THE ST. LOUIS METROPOLITAN AREA AND CONTINUES TO BE THE LARGEST UNIVERSITY BASED PERSONAL INCOME TAX SERVICE IN THE REGION.

This is a free service to senior and low income tax payers. Our stakeholder partners include the Internal Revenue Service, the Missouri Department of Revenue, UMSL Alums, area libraries and municipalities.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is in its thirty first year at UMSL. Sponsored by the College of Business Administration at UMSL and the Gamma Psi chapter of Beta Alpha Psi.

Annually, VITA student volunteers at UMSL comprehensively service about 1000 taxpayers . More than 1200 undergraduate and graduate students have been involved in VITA since the program's inception.
