Managing Director - Investments
Demos Argyros joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 1992. In 2008, Demos was appointed Co-Branch Manager of the St. Louis offices. Recently, Demos formed The TriRiver Group along with his associate, Todd Burnett, and their registered client service associates, Deborah Coleman and Marianne Dennie. Demos takes pride in his almost 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. His investment practice focuses on retail investors, including high-net-worth individuals and families.
In general, Demos' clients fall into two categories. One segment is older and tends to seek both security of principal and a prudent level of growth as they near or enter retirement. For these investors, Demos helps develop individualized strategies designed to give them peace of mind. The other client base tends to be slightly younger, and is more concerned with building their wealth and willing to assume more risk in an attempt to earn a commensurate level of return. For clients such as these, he uses long and short strategies, commodities, options and other strategies that he and his clients deem appropriate.
Demos began his career in financial services in 1985 at Dean Witter. He has worked at other major firms such as E.F. Hutton (later Shearson Lehman Hutton) and Kemper Securities. He graduated from the University of Missouri in St. Louis with finance major and an economics minor. He holds the General Securities Representatives License (Series 7), the Uniform Adviser Law Examination (Series 65) and the General Securities Sales Supervisor License (Series 9 and 10). Demos and his wife have two daughters and one son. He is a Board member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and enjoys both coaching young people and hunting waterfowl.
