David Doran joined the staff of the Gerontology Program in December 2006 after retiring from a full-time career in the college bookstore industry. David is a professionally-trained musician; he holds a Master of Music degree in Applied Music (organ) from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and is an Associate of the Royal College of Music, London.
He serves as organist and choirmaster of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas in St. Louis and is a 2007 recipient of the Patriarch Athenagoras award from the Metropolis of Chicago for excellence in sacred music and for service to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
Currently, he studies piano with Alla Voskoboynikova and chamber music with the Arianna String Quartet, both at the University of Missouri St. Louis.
