Dr. Kliethermes received his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. He attended graduate school in clinical psychology at Saint Louis University and received his doctoral degree in July 2003. Dr. Kliethermes has extensive experience in providing psychological services to children, with specific focus on the assessment and treatment of symptoms of posttraumatic stress. His experiences in the area of childhood trauma have included the assessment and treatment of sexually abused children at the Children's Advocacy Services of Greater St. Louis and a yearlong rotation providing psychological services to survivors of child maltreatment and trauma at La Rabida Children's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Currently, Dr. Kliethermes is completing his postdoctoral fellowship at the Greater St. Louis Child Traumatic Stress Program. His duties there include providing assessment and treatment to traumatized children, conducting professional training, and involvement in activities related to the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. Dr. Kliethermes has special professional interests in the areas of trauma and children with developmental disabilities and traumatic grief.
