Dr. Bucur received her Ph.D. in Applied Cognitive Aging Psychology from The University of Akron in 2003 and then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development at Duke University Medical Center. Her research involves investigating normal, age-related declines in memory and attention in healthy older adults (ages 60 and older), along with possible mediators of this relationship.  To investigate these issues, she has used a variety of approaches including behavioral and imaging techniques including functional magnetic resonance imaging and diffusion tensor imaging. Some of this research has been published in the top cognitive aging journals including Psychology and Aging, Journals of Gerontology: Psychological Sciences, and Aging, Neuropsychology, and Cognition. Currently, she is investigating possible mediators for the relation between increased age and false recall in older adults.
