The Psychology Department at UMSL has an active Psi Chi chapter. Psi Chi is the international honor society for psychology majors and minors. Membership allows students opportunities to obtain unique experiences and skills to prepare for the transition into graduate school and/or the professional world of psychology and related disciplines. Among other activities, UMSLs Psi Chi chapter hosts an annual speaker series, promotes student research, sponsors graduate school information sessions, plans social events, and lets its members know about available 3390 and undergraduate TA positions.
- Declared major or minor in psychology
- Completion of at least 36 college course credits (at least 12 at UMSL)
- Completion of at least 9 psychology course credits (at least 6 at UMSL)
- Overall UMSL GPA of 3.1 or higher
- UMSL psychology course GPA of 3.2 or higher
To apply to Psi Chi, download the application and the registration card using the following links and submit them to Jean Mayo in Stadler 325. Psi Chi accepts membership applications each Fall and Spring semester. The application deadline for the Spring 2013 semester is February 22nd.. There is a one-time membership fee of $55 to join UMSLs chapter of Psi Chi (payment due upon acceptance into Psi Chi).
