The Deadline to Apply for Fall Semester 2014 Scholarships is November 28, 2014.

Baldini Family Scholarship
● Applicants must be enrolled in the Teacher Education Program in the College of Education or the post-baccalaureate education certificate program in preparation for
careers as foreign language teachers.
● Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in their foreign language classes.
● Candidates will be selected based on merit. If all criteria are equal, preference shall be given to students who demonstrate financial need as identified by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
● Scholarship is $1000 and it is awarded annually. Scholarship recipients are eligible for renewal of the award provided they maintain the minimum cumulative grade point average.

Community College Scholarship
● Applicants transferring to UMSL must have completed a minimum of 3 courses in the same language, namely French, Japanese or Spanish at a community college, and be a declared major of that language.
● Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the same language and an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the community college level.
● Scholarship amount can vary based on available funds but is typically $700.      

German Scholarship
● Applicants must have completed at minimum of 6 credit hours in German at UMSL and have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the department and an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0.
● Scholarship amount can vary based on available funds but is typically $700.

Marcus Allen Memorial Scholarship
● Preference is given to French majors and is awarded on a competitive basis.
● Scholarship amount can vary based on available funds but is typically $700.

Modern Language Alumni Scholarship
● Applicants must be a declared language French, Japanese or Spanish major and have junior or senior standing in the department (enrolled in 3000/4000 level foreign language courses).
● Applicants must have completed a minimum of 6 credit hours in in the same language at UMSL and have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the department and an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0.
● Scholarship amount can vary based on available funds but is typically $700.

General Scholarship Criteria
● Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time at the University of Missouri St. Louis or transferring to UMSL as a declared language major.
● Scholarships must be applied towards UMSL educational fees in the 2000 or higher level language courses or study-abroad trip, and used within one semester of the award.

Greek Studies Scholarship (for those completing a Greek Studies Certificate) 
Greek Studies Scholarships awarded by the Center for International Studies are based on merit. There are two separate scholarships and applicants will be considered for both. Award varies each semester.

Greek Studies Academic Reference Form
Two instructors/professors must complete the Greek Studies Academic Reference Form or write an equivalent letter of recommendation.
