Have you ever wanted to learn a foreign language and didn’t feel like you had the time? Intensive language study provides linguistic and cultural immersion that teaches basic speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills at an accelerated pace. Intensive language study not only offers the opportunity to satisfy your foreign language requirement but can enhance your career; particularly, if you will be working with people from other countries and cultures.
The intensive language program consists of three courses (for a total of 13 credit hours) which must be taken together. Classes will meet four to five hours daily for approximately two months. To enroll in Intensive French or Spanish courses, you must complete a student survey as well as a basic grammar assessment and be interviewed by an instructor. Once your survey has been received you will be contacted to set up an appointment to meet with an instructor in the intensive language program for an interview and grammar assessment. Acceptance into the language program will be based on evidence of your motivation to successfully complete this intense program, your understanding of basic grammar, and your ability to control your schedule in order to permit time to prepare for classes during the course of study. You will be notified via email of your acceptance into the program after you have completed your interview.
