Awards and Scholarships

 

All scholarship applicants must submit this Scholarship Applicant Affidavit along with their application.

Baldini Family Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is to be applied for educational fees at University of Missouri - St. Louis.  It may be used to support students while studying abroad at an UMSL approved study abroad program.

Marcus Allen Memorial Scholarship 
For full-time UMSL students with preference given to French majors. Qualified students of French may apply for the Marcus Allen Memorial Scholarship which is awarded on a competitive basis and must be used within one semester of the award.  For more information please contact the department.

Various scholarship offerings for the University and Community College

Greek Studies Scholarship (for those completing a Greek Studies Certificate) 
Greek Studies Scholarships awarded by the Center for International Studies are based on merit. There are two separate scholarships and applicants will be considered for both. Award varies each semester.

Greek Studies Academic Reference Form
Two instructors/professors must complete the Greek Studies Academic Reference Form or write an equivalent letter of recommendation. 

Departmental Honors
Candidates for departmental honors in Modern Languages must meet the following requirements:

1) Achieve a GPA of 3.5 in the major for all hours attempted beyond the first two semesters. (Language Courses 1001 and 1002)
2) Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0. 
3) Successfully complete an honors thesis or project.
