Nancy Robb Singer co-directs the English Education program at UM-St. Louis. She teaches undergraduate English education methods courses, the student teaching seminar, graduate courses in composition, and supervises student teachers. Professor Singer’s research interests include teacher preparation and induction, composition theory and research, educational technology in teacher education and in composition, and writing assessment. As part of a National Writing Project Local Sites Research Initiative grant, she is currently working with local school districts to evaluate the efficacy and sustainability of in-service professional development models. The project seeks to improve K-12 writing instruction through the use of classroom inquiry.
