Dr. Gentile has published a book on the iconoclastic British novelist, Ivy Compton-Burnett, and articles on the expatriate American, avant-garde writer, Jane Bowles, as well as studies of the female gothic and the uncanny. Over the years, Dr. Gentile has taught courses on feminist criticism, gender theory and popular culture, female gothic, genres and genders of comedy, Jane Austen, and the Brontes.
