Steven Schreiner, associate professor of English, teaches in the Master of Fine Arts program in poetry. He regularly offers courses at undergraduate and graduate level, including Modern Poetry, Poetry Since World War II, Introductory and Advanced Poetry Writing, Form and Theory of Poetry, and Literary Journal Editing. He is the founding editor of Natural Bridge, a journal of contemporary literature, and is the author of two books, Out of Egypt (forthcoming, 2014) and Too Soon to Leave, and Imposing Presence, a chapbook. His poetry has appeared in numerous journals, including Poetry, Prairie Schooner, Colorado Review, Denver Quarterly, and River Styx. He has held fellowships from the National Writers Voice of the YMCA and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
