Paula Coalier teaches Junior-Level Writing, including dedicated sections of the course for students of Social Work and Nursing.  The latter reflect her particular interests in personal narrative, life review, the feminization of poverty, and care giving theory, which are subjects that she routinely integrates into her course work.  In addition, Paula teaches interdisciplinary applications of junior-level and first-year writing that are linked to content courses in the social sciences.  She is currently working with the Department of History to develop a link between the American Civilization survey and First Year Writing, where students read and discuss historical materials and then apply what they’ve read to foundational issues such as the development of American foreign policy and bipartisan government.

Paula also serves as the faculty advisor for the Alpha Beta Alpha chapter of Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society and an affiliate faculty member of Gender Studies.
