Donald J. Kridel, Ph.D.

Prior to joining the Department in 1993, Dr. Kridel was Director-Strategic Marketing at Southwestern Bell Corporation (now AT&T). Dr. Kridel, who received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 1987, is an applied econometrician with interests in the areas of telecommunications, demand analysis, forecasting and the use of state preference data in econometric choice models. Kridel has twenty-five years of research experience in telecommunications demand analysis and applied econometrics. In addition to leading his own research groups at Southwestern Bell for over eight years, he has performed research in virtually every important area of telecommunications demand analysis (e.g., telephony, publications, cellular, personal communications, cable TV, and international acquisitions).  Kridel’s work has appeared in various economics journals including  Information Economics and Policy, Journal of Regulatory Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Information Economics and Policy, and  International Journal of Forecasting.  In addition, Kridel has recently received grants from Express Scripts, Inc. and the Missouri Gaming Commission.
