Several years ago, Dr. Alice E. Hall began exploring the possibility of developing a departmental newsletter in an effort to showcase the achievements of the students, faculty, and alumni of the Department of Communication. The newsletter was designed to provide a mechanism for recent graduates to network with other alumni to develop stronger relationships and employment/scholarship opportunities.
Now, issues are released sporadically to highlight the activities of students and faculty. On behalf of the department, I hope you will join us in showing our appreciation to Dr. Hall for her efforts. We would also like to thank Nick Bowman, the graduate student who designed and created the original template for the newsletter and "Founding Editor."
• Issue 5 January 2006Please note, the file size of the newsletter has been significantly reduced (approx. 384k) although a broadband connection is still recommended.
• Issue 4 May 2005Please note, the file is roughly 2MB so a broadband connection is recommended (DSL/Cable approximately 1 minute).
• Issue 3 Nov. & Dec. 2004Please note, the file is roughly 1MB so a broadband connection is recommended (DSL/Cable approximately 1 minute).
• Issue 2 Apr. & May 2004Please note, the file is roughly 1MB so a broadband connection is recommended (DSL/Cable approximately 1 minute).
• Issue 1 Feb. & Mar. 2004Please note, the file is roughly 1MB so a broadband connection is recommended (DSL/Cable approximately 1 minute).
The Editor of the Departmental Newsletter is seeking information and stories from current and past students to include in the next issue. If you're a current student, let us know what you're doing. If you're a recent or past graduate, tell us about what you've been doing. If you know of employment opportunities at your organization, or if you're currently seeking a position, let us know. If you're looking for an old classmate, maybe we can help! We will make every effort to include your submissions in a forthcoming issue.
If you would like to be added to our mailing list, send your contact information to: commalumni@umsl.edu.
You may also contact the editor or submit for next issue.
