My journey at UMSL started a while back when I transferred here from the University of Northern Iowa. Prior to transferring to UMSL, I was able to experience first-hand working with students in a college setting as an office assistant at University of Northern Iowa’s Center for Multicultural Education and as a mentor to incoming freshman. That experience grew into a desire for helping others achieve their educational goals.
My academic history includes a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from UMSL, a Masters in Teaching from Lindenwood University and a Masters in Higher Education Administration from UMSL. As you can see, UMSL is a home away from home and holds a special place in my heart. I am also working towards a Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising from Kansas State University. I consider myself a life-long learner with many more years of education ahead of me.
While completing my Masters at UMSL, I had the opportunity to work as a graduate assistant in the Student Financial Aid office and build many relationships with UMSL’s diverse staff, faculty, and student body. After graduating in December 2012, I joined the advising team in the College of Arts and Sciences as an academic advisor. I am excited about advising but most importantly I am excited about helping students be successful. I look forward to being your academic advisor.
