My experience with UMSL began as an Undergraduate student here in the College of Arts and Sciences. I received my B.A. in Psychology in 2008 and began working in Social Work as an Employment Specialist and Career Counselor. While working as a Career Counselor, I found a passion for helping clients find careers through education, and determined that I would prefer to work in the University setting where I would be able to help students reach their academic goals. I decided to come back and complete my Masters of Higher Education here at UMSL in order to do so.
While completing the M.Ed. program, I was lucky enough to first intern, then work as a Graduate Student in the College of Education (OASIS) at UMSL. My focus was on student retention, which gave me a great appreciation and understanding of what students need in order to be successful in their degree programs. Now as an Advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences, I specialize in advising the majors of Computer Science, Math, Economics, Political Science/ Public Policy, Physics and Astronomy, and Undecided Students. I am extremely excited to work here as an Academic Advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences, and look forward to the opportunity to meet and assist the wonderful students of UMSL.
