Joe Southerland
I started working in the CAS/COFAC advising office soon after graduating in 2010 from UMSL with a B.A. in French. I feel that my experiences as an undergraduate at this university have helped me to relate to the diverse UMSL student body, and would encourage all students to regularly visit our office as well as take advantage of UMSL’s many student resources
Originally, my primary focus in the advising office was to contact at-risk students, but since then I have started working with UMSL’s pre-health students. In addition to this group of students, I also advise those majoring in Modern Languages, but I’m happy to meet with anyone trying to figure out what’s next in their major.
I find myself incredibly fortunate to be able to work with such a great student body here at UMSL.
