MOLECULAR GENETICS OF BACTERIA 4612

Credit hours: 3.0

Prerequisites: Biology 2012 and Biology 2482. A study of the molecular biology of gene replication, transfer, and expression in bacterial cells. Topics include DNA replication, transcription and translation, mutagenesis, DNA repair and recombination, gene transfer, and the regulation of genes and global expression systems. Three hours of lecture per week. Student may not receive credit for Biology 4612 & either Biology 6612 or any course previously called Gene Expression in Prokaryotes or Advanced Gene Expression in Prokaryotes.
