Outstanding Graduate Student
Research Award

Eligibility Requirements

Qualified individuals are invited to apply for the Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award. Eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • The author must have completed the research as part of a master’s or doctoral program within two years of submission.
  • Co-authored papers are allowed if all authors are students.

Judging Criteria

The papers must be submitted to the conference coordinator by the date specified in the Call for Proposals. The papers will be judged by the following criteria:

  1. The problem or issue is clearly defined.
  2. The study is situated in a theoretical framework. Related studies are cited.
  3. The study demonstrates sound research processes.
  4. The research shows originality. It makes a unique contribution to the field.
  5. Writing is clear, concise, and engaging.
  6. The link between research and practice is identified and discussed.

Download and complete the Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award Application (Word doc). Send it with your paper submission to mwr2p@umsl.edu by July 15, 2006.
