SENIORS:

If you’ve taken an Advanced Credit Program course with the University of Missouri–St. Louis, you may be eligible for up to $12,000 to attend UM–St. Louis after you graduate. That’s some serious cash for college. So what are you waiting for? Apply for an ACP UMSL University-Bound Scholarship today!

This scholarship is a $3,000 renewable and stackable scholarship available to students who have participated in the UMSL Advanced Credit Program and plan to attend UM–St. Louis full time upon high school graduation.

Scholarship application steps:

Step One

Apply to UM–St. Louis today.

You must apply to and be accepted for admission to UMSL by January 31 of your senior year to be considered for this scholarship. Only students who have been accepted to UMSL will be eligible. Apply now at www.umsl.edu/admission/apply/.

Please note: Admission to UM–St. Louis does not require you to attend.

To apply, you must be a high school senior who has successfully completed at least one Advanced Credit course with UMSL--these courses can be taken through the fall semester of your senior year.

To receive this scholarship, you must be a full-time student at UMSL beginning fall semester of your freshman year

Step Two

Complete an ACP University-Bound Scholarship Application packet.

  • Download and complete the scholarship application form.
  • Include your high school transcript, class rank, and ACT score.
  • Write an essay of up to 500 words that answers the question:
    "Why did you choose to enroll in the Advanced Credit Program, and how has your participation helped prepare you for the beginning of your college career?"

Step Three

Ask two people for letters of recommendation.

  • Download the Request for Letter of Recommendation form and instructions.
  • Have two adults submit letters of recommendation for you.
    • One letter MUST be from a teacher, counselor, or principal who can discuss your academic abilities.
    • The other can be from any adult who knows you well, such as a coach, employer, scout leader, etc.

Step Four

Submit your packet. Deadline: January 30, 2009.
