Instructions to Candidates

TIMES
The Mark Twain Building will open to the public one hour before the start of the ceremonies.
SATURDAY at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
SUNDAY at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

ROBING AND ASSEMBLY
Graduates will report to room 221 in the Mark Twain Building 45 minutes before the ceremony. Academic advisers will make sure that each candidate has an instruction/name card, assemble the group for the procession and answer any questions. There will be a check area available for purses, etc., although it is recommended that you do not bring valuables with you.

Faculty and doctoral candidates will robe in #219 (Mark Twain Building).

SEATING
Undergraduate and master's candidates will be led to their assigned seats by aisle marshals.
Doctoral candidates will proceed with the faculty.

  • At the appropriate time in the ceremony, the aisle marshals will direct each row of candidates across the stage to receive their diploma folder. The actual diploma will be mailed 8 weeks after the ceremony, when grades have been computed and each candidate's eligibility for graduation is confirmed.
  • Heart of America/Chappell Photography will be taking individual photos of graduates receiving their diploma folder from the Chancellor as they leave the stage. Proofs will be mailed to you within a week, and you may order photos at that time. If you don´t receive your proofs, please call this toll-free number 1-800-424-3686.
  • Preregister for Commencement Photos by clicking here and enter Univ. of Missouri St. Louis.
  • Candidates return to their seats after crossing the stage and remain there until the recession.
  • Candidates recess in order as directed by the aisle marshals

COLLEGE OF OPTOMETRY
Touhill Performing Arts Center, May 10 at 6:00 p.m.


TIMES
The Touhill performing Arts Center will open to the public at 5:00 p.m.

ROBING AND ASSEMBLY
Graduates will report to the Whitaker Rehearsal Room (lower level) at 5:15 p.m. Academic advisers will make sure that each candidate has an instruction/name card, assemble the group for the procession and answer any questions. There will be a check area available for purses, etc., although it is recommended that you do not bring valuables with you.

SEATING
Optometry graduates will be seated on the stage.

Heart of America/Chappell Photography will be taking individual photos of graduates receiving their diploma folder from the Chancellor as they leave the stage and a staged photo at the front of the stage.
