IMPORTANT DATES AND EVENTS 2011-2012

  • On Monday March 19 2012 Professor Valentino Stella, University Distinguished Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the  University of Kansas, will present the Fifteenth Annual Robert W. Murray Lecture.

  • On Saturday April 21 2012 , a Networking Reception for Alumni is being planned.  Watch this space for details.

  • On Monday April 30, 2012, Dr. Stephen A. Kolodziej BA 1987, PhD 1992, will present the 25th Annual Distinguished Alumni Lecture.  Details for both will be forthcoming.

  • Alumnus Dr. Sandy Asher BA 1971 wins prestigious Charles E. Kaufmann Foundation Award for 2011. Click here for information.

  • Dr. Harry W. Orf BS 1970 to leave his post as VP for Scientific Operations at Scripps Florida to become Senior VP of Research Management at Massachusetts General Hospital. See here for details.

  • ALUMNA HONORED BY THE AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETYDr Elizabeth A. Amin BA 1996, PhD 2003, Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Minnesota, was just named winner of the ACS HP Outstanding Junior Faculty Award for 2011 by the Division of Computers in Chemistry, and will be honored at the ACS meeting in Denver in the fall.

Distinguished Alumni Lecturers
A former student from the Department of Chemistry at  UM-St. Louis delivers this annual lecture, which is followed by a reception. This forms part of the regular departmental seminar program and is typically  scheduled for the first Monday in May as the final seminar of the academic year. The lecture follows presentation of the Annual Departmental Awards.
