Postdoctoral positions in carbohydrate and analytical/surface chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Missouri - St. Louis is seeking highly motivated individuals to work in emerging areas of organic and analytical chemistry on an NIH funded project. Two positions are available. The first will involve supported synthesis of carbohydrates on a nanomaterial [Chem. Commun. 2009, 1834], development of carbohydrate building blocks and linkers, and the synthesis of oligosaccharide libraries. The second will involve carbohydrate and biomolecule immobilization on a nanomaterial, characterization, and in-vitro assay/biosensor development using electrochemical and surface plasmon methods [The Analyst 2008, 133, 319]. Interested candidates with backgrounds related to one or more of these areas should send a summary of research experience, resume and names of three references to Dr. Demchenko (, carbohydrate) or Dr. Stine (, analytical/surface). Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. The University of Missouri-St. Louis is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity employer committed to excellence through diversity.
