Postdoctoral Research Positions in Supramolecular Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Missouri St. Louis announces the availability of a one-year position for Postdoctoral Associates in the research group of Dr. Alicia Beatty. The aim of the research projects is to synthesize arene-amine and carboxylic acid ligands, coordination compounds, and solid state materials for porous 3-D networks. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, or equivalent. Candidates should have strong backgrounds in organic synthesis and/or synthesis and characterization of soft solid state materials. Previous experience with the synthesis of hydrogen-bonded solids or coordination polymers would be an advantage, as would experience in solid state characterization (BET, DSC, TGA, and XRD). Applications should include a Curriculum Vitae, a statement of research experience and interests, and a list of at least three professional references. Applications should be sent by email to Review of applications will begin January 30, 2011 and continue until the position is filled.
