Graduate Awards
M. Thomas Jones Memorial Fellowship: Given each semester to for the outstanding seminar presented by a Graduate Student as determined by the vote of the graduate students. Amount of award $500.
Graduate Student Research Award: Provided annually to the Graduate Student based on an outstanding research record as indicated by published results and by presentations at regional, national, and international meetings. Recipient of the award is determined by vote of the faculty.
Jack L. Coombs Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award: This award was established to recognize graduate student TAs whose performance in the last academic year was truly exceptional. In addition to an individual award, other TAs may be recognized for good performance. Evaluation Mechanism: The Awards Committee will submit a short evaluation form to, and request comments from, all faculty who have taught courses which involved Teaching Assistants in the last year. Students' evaluations of the TAs will also be sought. The Awards Committee will submit the name of the awardee for departmental approval.
Outstanding Masters Student: Awarded to the topmasters students who has satisfied all deficiencies, is in good standing, has completed 18 credit hours of coursework, and is enrolled for at least one course in the current academic year. Awardees are nominated by a faculty member.
