CJ Study Tour In Germany

Tour dates: July 17 - August 2, 2009

The Criminal Justice Studies program in Germany will consist of an 17-day stay in two German states (Laenders): Rhineland-Palatinate and Bavaria. This summer study tour is designed as an introduction to German culture, using the justice system as a focal point. Lectures during the first half of the tour will introduce students to the German justice system while the second half of the tour will consist of a joint seminar with German students. All lectures and tours will be conducted in English.

The program will be lead by Professor Finn-Aage Esbensen, UMSL CCJ. He will be accompanied by Professors Elmar Weitekamp and Hans-Juergen Kerner from the Institute of Criminology at Eberhard Karls University of Tuebingen.

CCJ 3305 Comparative Criminology and Criminal Justice
CCJ 4380 Special Topics in Criminology and Criminal Justice

Graduate students can enroll in CCJ 6436 (Comparative Criminology, 3 credits)
