Paige Vaughn

Paige Vaughn photoPaige entered the UMSL Criminology and Criminal Justice Ph.D. program in 2015 after having earned B.A. degrees in Sociology and Psychology from Loyola Marymount University in 2014. Her research interests include crime control policy, law and society, and race and inequality. Her present research involves examining policing strategies in disadvantaged African American communities characterized by high levels of violence. She is currently collaborating with Michael Campbell (UMSL) and Heather Schoenfeld (Northwestern) on a comparative case study that tracks state-level legislative changes, political actors and organizations, and resource deployments, which have interacted to alter state prison populations and criminal justice system processes.
