Maribeth L. Rezey is a current doctoral candidate in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at UMSL. She received her M.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2009 and her B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from Villanova University in 2005. Her research interests include crime trends, quantitative methods, family violence, and victimization, especially issues concerning women and children. She is a 2015 Bureau of Justice Statistics Graduate Research Fellow, and her dissertation empirically examines various hypotheses posed by scholars to explain the decline in child maltreatment post-1990. Her work has appeared in the Journal of Quantitative Criminology, the Journal of Contemporary Criminal Justice, and The Criminologist
