The 12th Eurogang Workshop convened May 2 through May 4 in Stockholm, Sweden in conjunction with the Stockholm Gang Intervention and Prevention (SGIP) project. Approximately 350 people participated in this interesting and informative effort to link policy and practice with research. Participants included representatives from law enforcement agencies, practitioners and service providers, policy makers, and researchers. The 3-day conference included a diverse set of presentations. The 11th meeting of the Eurogang program met September 21 – 24, 2011 at Grundtvig’s Folk High School in Hillerod, Denmark. This year’s themes focused attention on 1) gang desistance/disengagement and 2) prevention and intervention policies for responding to youth gangs. Fifty-one researchers and practitioners representing 11 different nations participated. See the workshop agenda and presentations.
The 10th Eurogang workshop was held June 14 – 17, 2010 at the Herz-Jezu Kloster, Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Germany. The workshop was attended by 40 representatives from ten nations (Argentina, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Netherlands, Sweden, UK, USA). Attendees reflected a good cross-section of researchers and practitioners, including senior researchers and graduate students. Workshop themes examined 1) definitional and measurement issues; 2) group processes; and 3) girls in gangs (see workshop agenda and abstracts).
