Indoor Soccer

Intramural Indoor Soccer at the University of Missouri – St. Louis is a fast paced (and usually high scoring) game played in the MAC court of the Recreation and Wellness Center. This intramural version models futsal rules is a game of finesse; slide tackling is not permitted, players are expected to keep their hands off of the opponents, and as always good sportsmanship is held in the highest regard.  Teams will field 4 starters; there is not a goalie in indoor soccer.  Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com on December 16, 2016.
Entry Deadline:  Teams must have at least 3 registered players on www.IMLeagues.com by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24.
Fee:  FREE registration.  If a team were to forfeit, a $25 forfeit fee will be placed onto the Recreation and Wellness Center account of the team captain. 
Captain’s Meeting:  Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in Conference One of the RWC
Leagues:  Men’s, Women’s and CoEd options are offered
Players:  4 starters (2 male, 2 female for CoEd)
Minimum Starters:  To start a game teams must have 3 players signed in (at least 1 of each gender for CoEd)
Roster Maximum:  Teams can have up to 10 players on their roster
Game Length:  Games consist of two 18-minutes halves and are scheduled in 45-minute time slots.
Season:  Teams will be scheduled 5 regular season games, teams may play as many as 2 games in one week.
Playoffs:  All teams can make single elimination playoffs if they meet sportsmanship requirements and do not forfeit twice.
Site:  All games will be played in the MAC of the RWC.
Equipment:  Players are recommended to wear shin guards and matching shirts.  All other equipment will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department.


Basketball

One of the most popular Intramural events at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, Intramural Basketball is available to teams of all skill levels. Whether you are looking to continue to play organized basketball, release some competitive spirit, or just get some good old-fashioned exercise, Intramural Basketball is a great sport for students, faculty, staff or Recreation and Wellness Center members. Teams will play in a five game regular season, typically playing two games per week. As always, good sportsmanship is held in the highest regard. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com  on January 10, 2017.
Entry Deadline:  Teams must have at least 5 registered players on www.IMLeagues.com by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31.
Fee:  FREE registration.  If a team were to forfeit, a $25 forfeit fee will be placed onto the Recreation and Wellness Center account of the team captain.   
Captain’s Meeting:  Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in Conference One of the RWC
Leagues:  Men’s, Women’s and CoEd options are offered
Players:  5 starters (2m/3f or 3m/2f for CoEd)
Minimum Starters:  To start a game teams must have 3 players signed in (at least 1 of each gender for CoEd)
Roster Maximum:  Teams can have up to 12 players on their roster
Game Length:  Games consist of two 20-minutes halves and are scheduled in hour-long time slots.
Season:  Teams will be scheduled 5 regular season games; teams will play up to two games per week.
Playoffs:  All teams can make single elimination playoffs if they meet sportsmanship requirements and do not forfeit twice.
Site:  All games will be played on courts 1 and 2 of the RWC
Equipment:  Players are recommended to wear matching shirts with numbers.  All other equipment will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department.


Pickleball League

Due to the great turnout at the Pickleball Tournament in the fall, a new Pickleball League has been added for the spring. There will be a singles league will have men’s and women’s divisions, and a doubles league that will have an “open” (any male/female combination) division; all games will be played at the convenience of the competitors. Singles and doubles will be assigned an opponent at the beginning of the week; the opponents will contact each other and agree on a playing date and time in that week. Once the match is played, the winner will email imsports@umsl.edu with the scores. This format will last for 4 weeks (one week will have 2 matches), after which, all of the singles and doubles will be seeded and play in a one-day playoff bracket at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com on January 10.  
Entry Deadline: Individuals must be registered on www.IMLeagues.com by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31.
Fee: FREE registration. If a team were to forfeit, a $25 forfeit fee will be placed onto the Recreation and Wellness Center account of the team captain.

Leagues: Men’s and Women’s singles leagues, Open doubles league.
Players: 1 starter for singles, 2 for doubles
Game Length: Matches are best 2-out-of-3 games. Each game is to 11 points with traditional scoring, not rally scoring.
Playoffs: All singles and doubles can make single elimination playoffs if they meet sportsmanship requirements and do not forfeit twice. The tournament will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10.


Floor Hockey

Floor Hockey is the closest thing IM’s have to ice hockey.  The intramural version is a no-contact sport which also restricts the stick from never passing the height of the waist.  Played in the MAC of the Recreation and Wellness Center, Floor Hockey uses a special speed-controlled floor hockey ball in place of a puck, and plastic sticks provided by the Intramural Sports Department.  Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com  on February 7, 2017.

6-Player Volleyball

Volleyball is one of the most popular Intramural Sports at the University of Missouri – St. Louis.  Featuring nearly identical rules from the fall 4-player season, 6-Player Volleyball will use rally scoring, guaranteeing all 3 games of each match in the regular season.  Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com  on February 21, 2016.
Entry Deadline:  Teams must have at least 6 registered players on www.IMLeagues.com by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14.
Fee:  FREE registration.  If a team were to forfeit, a $25 forfeit fee will be placed onto the Recreation and Wellness Center account of the team captain.

Leagues:  Men’s, Women’s and CoEd options are offered
Players:  All leagues have 6 starters (3 male, 3 female in CoEd)
Minimum Starters:  To start a game teams must have 4 players signed in (at least 2 of each gender for CoEd)
Roster Maximum:  Teams can have up to 14 players on their roster.
Match Length:  A match consists of 3 games.  Games one and two are played by rally scoring up to 25, the third game will be played to 15. Matches are scheduled in 45-minute timeslots.
Season:  Teams will be scheduled 5 regular season matches, teams may play as many as 2 matches in one week.
Playoffs:  All teams can make single elimination playoffs if they meet sportsmanship requirements and do not forfeit twice.
Site:  All matches will be played on courts 1 and 2 at the Recreation and Wellness Center.
Equipment:  All equipment will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department.  Teams are encouraged to wear matching shirts.


IM NCAA Bracketology

NCAA Bracketology gives you a chance to prove to everyone that you know men’s college basketball and you don’t have to leave the comfort of your home to compete.  How you will enter your bracket will be determined on a date closer to the NCAA tournament.  Brackets will be accepted until Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.  IM NCAA Bracketology is FREE!


MAC Challenge League

Maybe you missed out on your favorite sport, or want another chance to play it again?  The MAC Challenge League is here for you.  Taking the Intramural Sports that are played on the Multi Activity Court, the MAC Challenge League rotates teams through the five great sports of Wiffleball, Dodgeball, Indoor Soccer, Floor Hockey, and 6-Player Volleyball.  Teams will play a five game regular season with each game featuring a different sport.  Get your multi-talented friends together and see which team is the most versatile to master these five completely different sports!  For more details on how the five sports are played, click on their full season descriptions.  Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.

Players:  The number of players that are needed will depend on which sport is being played.  The five sports that are a part of the MAC Challenge League all have either 5 or 6 Starters: Wiffleball (6), Dodgeball (6), Indoor Soccer (5), Floor Hockey (6), and 6-Player Volleyball (6). 
Roster Maximum:  Teams can have up to 14 players on their roster.
Season:  Teams will be scheduled 5 regular season games, teams may play as many as 2 games in one week.  Each regular season game will be a different sport.
Site:  MAC in the Recreation and Wellness Center
Equipment:  All equipment will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department.  


Backyard Games Tournament

Grab a partner and sign up for the new Backyard Games Tournament. On Monday, May 1 teams will compete in three different popular backyard games: Cornhole, KanJam, and Ladder Golf. This is an “open” league format; partners can be any male/female combination. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
Entry Deadline: Teams must have at least 2 registered players on www.IMLeagues.com by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25.
Fee: FREE registration. If a team were to forfeit, a $25 forfeit fee will be placed onto the Recreation and Wellness Center account of the team captain. 
Leagues: Open; any male/female combination is allowed.
Players:  There are 2 players required per activity.
Roster Maximum:  Teams can have up to 3 players on their roster.
Season: This is a one day tournament on Monday, May 1 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. featuring Cornhole, KanJam, and Ladder Golf.
Site: On the lawn outside of the Recreation and Wellness Center. The rain site is the MAC in the Recreation and Wellness Center
Equipment: All equipment will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department. 


Basketball Skills Team Combine

This new one day tournament will run you and your two teammates through 5 basketball stations, with scores being added to your team total in a combine format. The 5 basketball stations are as follows:
Speed Halftime: 30 seconds to try and make a layup, free throw, 3-point basket, and half-court shot – similar to what you may see as a halftime challenge at basketball games.
3-Point Shootout: 60 seconds to shoot 20 3-point shots.
Obstacle Relay: An obstacle relay course will challenge each team to complete basketball skills as fast as they possibly can as a team.
Dribble Relay: A dribbling skills relay based on speed for you and your two teammates.
Shooting Relay: This is a shooting relay where the next person cannot go until after their teammate makes the specified shot.

In the combine format, each station can be attempted twice per team, with the highest score being kept. This is an “open” league format; teams can be any male/female combination. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

Season: This is a one day skills day on Tuesday, May 2 from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. five basketball related challenges.

Equipment: All equipment will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department.


Sand Volleyball Night Tournament

The Sand Volleyball Night Tournament on Wednesday, May 3 from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. is an OPEN tournament where the roster can be any combination of genders. In this self-officiated tournament, sportsmanship, participation, and fun are the emphasis. The format of the tournament will be determined based on the number of teams that register. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
Entry Deadline: Teams must have at least 3 registered players on www.IMLeagues.com by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25.
Fee: FREE registration. If a team were to forfeit, a $25 forfeit fee will be placed onto the Recreation and Wellness Center account of the team captain. 
Leagues: Open; any male/female combination is allowed.
Players: 4 starters (any gender combination)
Minimum Starters: 3 players must be signed in.
Roster Maximum: Team can have up to 10 players on their roster.
Season: This is a one day tournament on Wednesday, May 3 from 7:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
Site: This league will take place on the Oak Hall sand volleyball court
Equipment: A sand volleyball will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department.


OPEN Ultimate Frisbee Tournament (6 vs 6)

The last Intramural Sport that is outside for the spring! This is a one day OPEN Ultimate Frisbee Tournament on Thursday, May 4. All games will be played here on campus at the grass field north of the Mark Twain Athletic Center, on the southwest corner of the University Place Drive and Mark Twain Drive intersection. This is an OPEN tournament where the roster can be any combination of genders; each team will be required to have four players to play. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
Entry Deadline: Teams must have at least 4 registered players on www.IMLeagues.com by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2.
Fee: FREE registration. If a team were to forfeit, a $25 forfeit fee will be placed onto the Recreation and Wellness Center account of the team captain.

OPEN Stability Ball Volleyball Tournament (4 vs 4)

In collaboration with “Fun Free Fridays” Intramural Sports ends the spring semester with Stability Ball Volleyball. Stability Ball Volleyball is new fun version of volleyball played with a normal volleyball, the twist is that every player holds a stability ball and can only contact the volleyball with their stability ball to get the volleyball over the net. This is a one day OPEN tournament on Friday, May 5 open to all students, faculty, and staff. Everyone participating in the tournament will be allowed free access to the Recreation and Wellness Center while games are being played as long as they are on their team’s www.IMLeagues.com roster. Games will begin as early as 11 a.m. on Friday, May 5, but requests for time preferences will be accepted at the registration deadline for this bracketed tournament. In an OPEN tournament the roster can be any combination of genders; each team will be required to have at least three players to play. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
