Spring 2019 Registered Sport Leagues

This sport is full of fancy footwork. Intramural Indoor Soccer at the University of Missouri – St. Louis is a fast paced (and usually high scoring) game played in the MAC court of the Recreation and Wellness Center. This intramural version models futsal rules; it is a game of finesse, slide tackling is not permitted, players are expected to keep their hands off of the opponents, and as always good sportsmanship is held in the highest regard.  Teams will field 4 starters; there is not a goalie in indoor soccer. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com on December 7, 2018.

Entry Deadline: Teams must have at least 3 registered players on www.IMLeagues.com by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29.

Fee: FREE registration. If a team were to forfeit, a $25 forfeit fee will be placed onto the Recreation and Wellness Center account of the team captain.

Captain’s Meeting: TBA

Leagues: Men’s, Women’s and CoEd options are offered

Players: 4 starters (2 male, 2 female for CoEd, goalie of any gender)

Minimum Starters: To start a game teams must have 3 players signed in (at least 1 of each gender for CoEd)

Roster Maximum: Teams can have up to 10 players on their roster

Game Length: Games consist of two 18-minutes halves and are scheduled in 45-minute time slots.

Season: Teams will be scheduled 5 regular season games, teams may play as many as 2 games in one week.

Playoffs: All teams can make single elimination playoffs if they meet sportsmanship requirements and do not forfeit twice.

Site: All games will be played in the MAC of the RWC.

Equipment: Players are recommended to wear shin guards and matching shirts. All other equipment will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department.

One of the most popular Intramural events at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, Intramural Basketball is available to teams of all skill levels. Whether you are looking to continue to play organized basketball, release some competitive spirit, or just get some good old-fashioned exercise, Intramural Basketball is a great sport for students, faculty, staff or Recreation and Wellness Center members. Teams will play in a five game regular season, typically playing two games per week. As always, good sportsmanship is held in the highest regard.  Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com  on January 14th.

Game Length: Games consist of two 20-minutes halves and are scheduled in hour-long time slots.

Season: Teams will be scheduled 5 regular season games; teams will play up to two games per week.

Playoffs: All teams can make single elimination playoffs if they meet sportsmanship requirements and do not forfeit twice.

Site: All games will be played on courts 1 and 2 of the RWC

Equipment: Players are recommended to wear matching shirts with numbers.  All other equipment will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department.

More Pickleball! There will be a singles league which will have men’s and women’s divisions, and a doubles league that will have an “open” (any male/female combination) division; all games will be played at the convenience of the competitors. Singles and doubles will be assigned an opponent at the beginning of the week; the opponents will contact each other and agree on a playing date and time in that week. Once the match is played, the winner will email imsports@umsl.edu with the scores. This format will last for 4 weeks (one week will have two matches), after which, all of the singles and doubles will be seeded and play in a one-day playoff bracket at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com/umsl on January 14th.

Leagues: Men’s and Women’s singles leagues, Open doubles league.

Players: 1 starter for singles, 2 for doubles

Game Length: Matches are best 2-out-of-3 games. Each game is to 11 points with traditional scoring, not rally scoring.

Playoffs: All singles and doubles can make single elimination playoffs if they meet sportsmanship requirements and do not forfeit twice. A playoff tournament will take place at the end of the regular season.

Floor Hockey is the closest thing IM’s have to ice hockey, minus the skates. The intramural version is a no-contact sport which also restricts the stick from ever passing the height of the waist. Played in the MAC of the Recreation and Wellness Center, Floor Hockey uses a special speed-controlled floor hockey ball in place of a puck, and plastic sticks provided by the Intramural Sports Department. Equipment: All equipment will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department.  Teams are encouraged to wear matching shirts.

Volleyball is one of the most popular Intramural Sports at the University of Missouri – St. Louis.  Featuring nearly identical rules from the fall 4-player season, 6-Player Volleyball will use rally scoring, guaranteeing all 3 games of each match in the regular season. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com  on February 14th.

Entry Deadline: Teams must have at least 4 registered players on www.IMLeagues.com by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12.

Fee: FREE registration. If a team were to forfeit, a $25 forfeit fee will be placed onto the Recreation and Wellness Center account of the team captain.

Match Length: A match consists of 3 games.  Games one and two are played by rally scoring up to 25, the third game will be played to 15. Matches are scheduled in 45-minute timeslots.

Season: Teams will be scheduled 5 regular season matches, teams may play as many as 2 matches in one week.

Playoffs: All teams can make single elimination playoffs if they meet sportsmanship requirements and do not forfeit twice.

Site: All matches will be played on courts 1 and 2 at the Recreation and Wellness Center.

Equipment: All equipment will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department.  Teams are encouraged to wear matching shirts.

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. Dodgeball is a fast paced sport requiring only six soft cushioned balls and it will be played in the MAC of the Recreation and Wellness Center.  Teams attempt to knock their opponents out by striking them with a ball anywhere on the body below the neck, or catching an opponent’s throw.  The playing space will decrease as the number of players remaining is reduced.  Participants wear athletic clothes and running shoes.  Registration begins at www.IMLeagues.com on March 4th.

Match Length:  A match consists of a best 4 of 7 games.  Games are played until one team has all members eliminated or a 5-minute time limit expires.   Matches are scheduled in half-hour long timeslots.

Playoffs:  All teams can make single elimination playoffs if they meet sportsmanship requirements and do not forfeit twice.

Site:  MAC in the Recreation and Wellness Center.

Let’s go to the beach…again!  Due to popular demand, we are going to have another chance to play sand volleyball. The Sand Volleyball League is an OPEN league where the roster can be any combination of genders. In this self-officiated league, sportsmanship, participation, and fun are the emphasis. Teams will play a five game regular season followed by single elimination playoffs. Registration opens at www.IMLeagues.com on March 11th.

Entry Deadline:  Teams must have at least 3 registered players on www.IMLeagues.com by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9.

Players:  2 starters (any gender combination)

Minimum Starters:  2 players must be signed in.

Roster Maximum:  Team can have up to 6 players on their roster.

Game Length:  Rally scoring to 25 in games 1 and 2, game 3 will go to 15. All 3 games of the match will be played in the regular season.

Season:  Teams will be scheduled 5 regular season matches; there may be instances where a team will have a doubleheader.

Playoffs:  All teams can make single elimination playoffs if they meet sportsmanship requirements and do not forfeit twice.

Site:  This league will take place on the Oak Hall sand volleyball court

Equipment:  A sand volleyball will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department.

Spring 2019 No Registration Required Events

NCAA Bracketology gives you a chance to prove to everyone that you know men’s college basketball and you don’t have to leave the comfort of your home to compete.  How you will enter your bracket will be determined on a date closer to the NCAA tournament.  Brackets will be accepted until Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.  IM NCAA Bracketology is FREE!

This doubles tournament will be open to all combinations of teammates, men and women, and the games will be played in one day. The Badminton Tournament is a free one-day event that does not require pre-registration. Individuals will register on-site at courts 1 and 2 in the RWC by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26th. Once registration is closed, everyone will be randomly placed in a playoff bracket.

Entry Deadline: Friday, April 26, 2019 by 5:00 p.m. in the RWC. All individuals interested must be on-site at 5:00 p.m.; they will then be placed in a playoff bracket.  

Fee: FREE registration. If a team were to forfeit, a $25 forfeit fee will be placed onto the Recreation and Wellness Center account of the team captain.

Leagues: Only an OPEN bracket will be offered.

Players: 2 starters

Game Length: Games are best 2 of 3. All games will be played to 21.

Season:  This tournament will be started and completed on the April 13. The nature of the bracket (single or double elimination) will be determined based on the number of teams that register.

Site:  All games will be played on courts 1 and 2 of the RWC.

Equipment:  The Recreation and Wellness Center will provide shuttlecocks and has a limited supply of racquets; participants are encouraged to bring their own racquets.
