Illinois Undergraduate Residents Rate
While undergraduate tuition for non-residents is $930.00 per credit hour, undergraduate Illinois residents from any Illinois county pay the low rate of $349.70 per credit hour. This is a savings of $584.10 per credit hour. With most undergraduate degrees requiring a minimum of 120 credit hours, the savings can add up to more than $69,000 over the course of your bachelor's degree.*

Note that during the Fall 2018 semester, UMSL will also provide Illinois Residents with a waiver of $3.80 per credit hour that further reduces the cost. Illinois Graduate Resident Metropolitan Rate
While graduate tuition for non-residents is $1,169.70 per credit hour, graduate students who are residents from 22 surrounding Illinois counties pay the low rate of $476.50 per credit hour. This is a savings of $693.20 per credit hour, nearly 60 percent off.** The number of credit hours required for graduate degrees vary by program, so consult your academic adviser to learn the cost savings associated with your degree through the Metropolitan Rate.
