College of Nursing
One of the largest and most comprehensive nursing and health studies programs in the Midwest, we are the only public institution in the St. Louis area offering a full range of nursing education – through Ph.D. degree. The Accelerated Track of the College’s B.S.N. program is designed for students who have earned a baccalaureate degree in a discipline other than nursing or for outstanding transfer students who have completed the prescribed general education and science courses. Classes are developed with the adult learner in mind, using self-directed learning activities. We also offer a Continuing Education program to support life-long learning. Health care continues to be a high-growth field nationally and in the St. Louis metropolitan area, where health care companies and organizations are some of our largest employers. Collaboration has created a multitude of opportunities for UM-St. Louis nursing students, including: unparalleled opportunities for clinical experience complementing traditional classroom learning through a unique affiliation with St. Louis’ BJC Health Care System, as well as other affiliate hospitals; and connection with the nursing profession as a representative of the National Student Nurses’ Association prior to earning a license.
The College of Nursing is nationally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
