The Interdisciplinary Studies Program allows students to design majors in multi-interdisciplinary areas that do not typically exist as current degree offerings at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies enables a student to combine courses from at least three different disciplines; classes may be taken at the intermediate or advanced level.
This allows students to study a subject from multiple academic perspectives, or to combine courses for a specific career goal.

What UMSL has to offer
Open to all students, including those enrolled in the Pierre Laclede Honors College, each program is developed by the student and supported by a dedicated faculty adviser as well as a professional Student Services Coordinator.
The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies meets the same standards of academic quality as all other UMSL programs and is ideal preparation for employment or graduate study.
